Oliver Tweetletot was a socialite in south Florida. It was 1980's in South Florida and his social life was better than ever. He accidentally killed a man one night. He liked it. Was there something dark inside of him that made him keep killing? He didn't care. There was something exciting about the kill.

The Killer Wore Cashmere Socks Dixie Howell 9781523751198 Books

Set in moneyed Florida in the 1980's, we have a small cast of characters who spend their time drinking expensive alcohol and spending their inheritances. But this is a book about a killer. A likeable, affable killer. The story ends up being an interwoven collection of anecdotes about what happens to the various characters which dovetail nicely into a karma filled ending. And that's what I enjoyed most about the book - the interwoven connectedness of the storylines. Very well done. A bumbling cacophony of errors and fateful decisions.
I couldn't initially decide whether this book deserved four or five stars. I very much enjoyed the book - it is a five star read, but there were more than a handful of typos. They didn't affect my enjoyment of the book, but they were noticeable. And I wish I knew what had happened to Jan!
Drugs, alcohol, scams, and psychics. I can recommend this book.

The Killer Wore Cashmere Socks Dixie Howell 9781523751198 Books Reviews

I absolutely loved loved this last book that Dixie wrote! It has very intriguiging and changing characters and her imagination just
keeps you turning the pages to keep up. This book was a very easy read and I finished way too quickly...and it left me wanting
to know more about "Melody"......and all the Florida characters!!! I can't wait for her next thriller!! Thanks Dixie!
Short, fast-moving read with an intriguing protagonist. Perfect for poolside or beach reading.
This is the second book I have read by Dixie Howell and it was not a disappointment! I normally read police thrillers and found the viewpoint of this book (written through the eyes of an eccentric, ego driven, serial killer) to be fascinating. It is a bit gory at times. I am rating it four stars instead of five only because I wish the author had delved deeper into several characters thoughts, such as the killer's spouse. Definitely a page turner and great read!
I have bought one other book by Dixie Howell and have read it over and over. Her style of writing was what helped me choose to buy another book by her. As I started reading the book, I'm thinking oh, ok...we have a guy who killed someone. Little did I know he would have so many quirks and continue killing. The book was a definite display of many emotions on my part. I'd think I had something figured out, only to be fooled time and again and the surprises I had coming to me from each page was enough to keep my nose in it until I finished it.. And, for this reason, I think if anyone likes murder mysteries and quirky personalities, they'd like this book. I recommend buying it.
Dixie has, once again, written a compelling book that keeps you reading. Her characters are all multi-faceted and inter-related in an unusual way. Although a murder-mystery tale, Dixie has interspersed some humor. There is a lot of twists here for everyone. I recommend this and also her first book, "The Warrior Gene." I just kinda wonder how Melody will turn out being raised by Ollie? Will she be bullied in High School? Will Ollie teach her how to handle the bullies? Oh well, we'll just have to wait and see!!
This book has proven to be a piece of awesome that Dixie has created and transformed onto print! The plot, characters and scenes of South Florida come alive in a very suspenseful way! Throughout the book, the story line can be followed in a readable fashion. South Florida is a rather magical and unique culture that lends itself to pleasurable thoughts. The setting truly adds to the nuances of the book. However, the plot is skillfully developed with unanticipated events. This is the first book that I have purchased by the author, Dixie Howell. She has also written "Warrior Gene", another gem that will arrive in about 5 days. It is a guaranteed treat for my reading and library collection.
This is a thriller for sure! Just as in her first novel, Dixie Howell has written a story with incredible character development and shocking twists and turns in the plot. If you are tired of predictable stories whose outcome you can always predict, this book will be a welcome change. Murderous plots are not my interest, but this book is cleverly written and it is hard to put it down! There is some gore in it, which is why I gave it four instead of five stars. But who doesn't expect gore in a murder novel? The main character, Ollie, is a fascinating and puzzling man. It is fun to follow his bizarre life in this book.
